What’s good! I'm thrilled to share the story behind my therapy private practice! You know, it all started with a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of men, especially black men, who have faced their fair share of struggles.

I'll be honest; becoming a therapist wasn't initially my plan. Growing up as a black man in America, I faced challenges that many of my peers couldn't fully grasp. Mental health was often seen as a taboo topic, and like many, I believed seeking therapy meant admitting weakness or that something was wrong with me.

But life had its way of leading me down this path. I went through my own journey of self-discovery, and eventually, I realized that there was a glaring gap in the mental health space. There simply weren't enough male therapists who truly understood the unique experiences and cultural nuances that come with being a black man.

That realization ignited a passion within me to change the narrative and create a safe space for black men to seek help without judgment or stigma. I wanted to be the therapist I wish I had when I was going through tough times. So, I took the leap and embarked on the incredible journey of becoming a therapist.

One of my driving motivations is to build connections with my clients, to be approachable, relatable, and empathetic. I've experienced the challenges of trying to connect with therapists who didn't fully grasp where I was coming from, and that's why I put so much emphasis on establishing rapport and being personable with my clients.

I'm a firm believer in the power of collaboration and the strength within each individual. That's why I love using approaches like solution-focused therapy. It's all about helping my clients tap into their natural perseverance, build mental flexibility, boost their self-worth, and develop self-care routines that truly work for them.

My goal is simple, yet deeply meaningful. I want to see black men living healthier, happier, and more satisfying lives despite the obstacles they might face. I know firsthand the challenges we endure, and I'm committed to supporting my clients through their unique journeys.

This private practice is more than just a business to me. It's a calling, a chance to break down the barriers that have kept so many from seeking the help they deserve. I want black men to feel seen, heard, and understood in a world that may not always offer that understanding.
