Our Services
What we offer
Our counseling services are available through Telehealth, which means you can receive therapy through an online platform. To access our services, you need to be at least 18 years old and live in either Washington, DC or Texas.
Black men are not receiving the help they need for these problems. For example, only 26.4% of Black and Hispanic men ages 18 to 44 who experienced daily feelings of anxiety or depression were likely to have used mental health services, compared with 45.4% of non-Hispanic White men with the same feelings (NCHS Data Brief No. 206, 2015). When Black men do seek help they would prefer a same-race provider. However, it can be difficult finding Black therapists, since they still make up only about 4% of Therapists.

Therapy can be deeply personal where you explore the deepest parts of your thoughts and beliefs, it can also be a place where you feel safe to explore new thoughts or ideas you aren’t sure what to do with yet or it can be anything in-between. The common factor in all of this is that it is about YOU. We can explore whatever it is that’s on your mind at the pace you set.

Man, life can be a real struggle. It's like everyone, society, even your own family, has their own idea of what it means to be a man. They throw these expectations, demands, and pressures at you, and sometimes it's just f***ing overwhelming. It's like they've cranked up the volume so high that there's no room left for you to figure out who the hell YOU want to be. It's a tough job, really. And let's keep it a 100, diving into your own thoughts and feelings? It's been one hell of a challenge. It's almost like they've put a "no entry" sign on expressing yourself out loud, like it's some kind of crime. So, what's the point, right?
But guess what? You deserve a space to shoot the breeze, to unload all those feelings that have been tagging along for years or even just the last five minutes. And here's the kicker – you shouldn't have to look over your shoulder worrying if someone's gonna twist your words and use them against you. Especially not the ones who are supposed to be closest to you. And let's talk about judgment. Yeah, that's outta the picture too. You shouldn't have to worry about family and friends giving you the bombastic side-eye.
We know how it is – you ain't gonna open up to just anyone. You need someone who gets it, who's walked in your shoes. Someone who knows what it's like to face the world looking the way you do, dealing with whatever the environment throws at you, and yet still pushing to live a life that's got some meaning. Something with a return on your investment.
There aren’t many men in the therapy field, black men are especially rare. We are addressing that need because we all deserve to feel affirmed and understood, to receive gender and culturally specific care. Whenever you’re ready, Let’s get it!

As per the National Institutes of Health (NIH), anxiety takes the lead as the most common mental challenge in the US. Shockingly, around half of young adults aged 18-24 shared they were grappling with anxiety and depression symptoms in 2023. This is in stark contrast to about one-third of adults in general who live with anxiety & depression.
Now, anxiety and depression can often team up and make life a bit more confusing. It's like they're wearing matching outfits and it's hard to tell who's who. Sometimes, it feels like you're stuck in the middle, dealing with both. It's tough, really. The sad part is, it's a norm for folks dealing with anxiety and depression to paint on a smile while they're silently fighting a storm inside. Eventually, this silent struggle can really wear you out, mentally and even physically. It's like a double battle, especially for guys who've grown up believing they can't show weakness and end up suffering in silence.
A big telltale sign of anxiety is dodging anything that stirs up distress. And when your own thoughts and feelings become overwhelming, you might find ways to distract yourself like drinking, smoking, whatever numbs the edge, stress eating, burying yourself in work, or just pretending you're all good. But here's the twist – the more you rely on these fixes, the tougher it gets to dig down to the real problem, and the cycle goes on. Before you know it, you're mad at yourself or feeling ashamed, like you've lost control of your own thoughts and actions. And hey, it's pretty common to end up in a loop of feeling bad about yourself, having a lousy self-image, and throwing shade at yourself. It's like an internal war that can spill over and impact relationships with those you care about.
But guess what? We're here to have your back and help you face these challenges head-on. Our mission? Empowering you to listen to yourself, make sense of it all, and steer your life in a new direction. Trust us, you've got the power to make some amazing changes. We're creating a space that's free of judgment – a place where you can open up about all those tangled thoughts, feelings, and actions.

If there’s one thing we've all picked up on lately is how fast things can flip on their head. It's like one minute everything's one way, and the next? Bam, it's all different, and it keeps on changing till you can't even remember what life was like back in the day. These shifts can mess with relationships, throw you into new jobs, have you moving your whole life around, impact your whole socio-economic vibe, or hit you with sickness or the loss of someone close. For real, the list just keeps on going. Sometimes these changes slide in smooth, like you saw 'em coming a mile away. But other times? Man, it feels like it just slapped the sh*t outta you outta nowhere.
Thing is, no matter what kind of change rolls in, sometimes we just need a bit of backup while we're trying to get our legs under us again. We're talking about finding that solid footing, so we can keep cruising on this wild journey called life and keep soaking up all that good stuff. It might take a bit, and you gotta put some real thought into it, but trust me, it's doable. Yeah, it might feel like the weight of the world on your shoulders, but hey, remember, this sh*t? It's gonna pass, my friend. Just hold on tight.

When you first started this job, man, you were all about it – full of excitement and passion. But look at you now, drowning in responsibilities up to your eyeballs. The fire that used to light you up has dimmed, and honestly, you can't even remember the last time you had a legitimate good time at work. And taking a break? Shit, that feels like some far-off fantasy.
And guess what? Your whole life outside work? Yeah, it's feeling the heat too. Your work feels so off that it's messing with your outside life, and even your work is starting to suffer, man. You're tired as hell, dragging your ass through the day, and sleep? It's playing hide and seek with you, 'cause all you can think about when you close your eyes is the pile of tasks waiting for you.
Let's keep it a stack – this is burnout territory. Chronic exhaustion, both in the body and the soul, the works. It's the result of stress that just won't quit, a ton of responsibilities smashing you like a freight train, and barely a moment to catch your breath.
Now, let's talk about that compassion fatigue. You've been the one to lean on, the shoulder to cry on, day in, day out. It's admirable as hell, but it's a double-edged sword. You're giving so much of yourself that you're running on empty. Your empathy, once boundless, is fading, and it's leaving you feeling like a shell of your usual self.
But here's the silver lining: you're not stuck with this. Burnout and compassion fatigue can be dealt with, wrestled down, and shown the door.
So, let's be real about these struggles, confront 'em head-on, and rebuild your energy and purpose. You deserve more than this, and it's high time you claimed it. Let's bring back that spark, find your balance, and kick burnout's ass to the curb.
I've got your back on this journey, no BS. It's time to turn things around and reclaim your life.
