Using private pay in therapy, where you pay directly for therapy services rather than using insurance or other third-party payment methods, can offer several benefits:
1. Confidentiality: Private pay can help maintain your confidentiality, as insurance claims might require the disclosure of your mental health diagnosis or treatment details.
2. Choice of Therapist: You have more flexibility to choose a therapist who aligns with your needs and preferences, as you're not limited to providers covered by your insurance network.
3. Flexible Scheduling: You and your therapist can work out a schedule that suits your availability, allowing for more convenient and consistent sessions.
4. Tailored Treatment: You and your therapist can collaboratively design a treatment plan that directly addresses your unique concerns and goals.
5. Personalized Approach: Therapy can focus on your well-being rather than adhering to insurance requirements or diagnostic labels.
6. Enhanced Privacy: Your therapy journey remains between you and your therapist, with no need to share sensitive information with insurance companies.
7. Uninterrupted Care: You have greater control over the continuity of your therapy, avoiding interruptions due to changes in insurance coverage or provider networks.
8. Holistic Focus: Therapists may have more flexibility to explore various therapeutic modalities and techniques that best suit your needs.
An Insurance Opt Out Form is required for all Private Pay clients, and all services and treatment provided from it's activation date cannot be used to submit Superbills to claim Out Of Network reimbursement from an insurance company.

The primary benefit of using OON is that it allows you to work with a therapist that is not in-network or does not accept insurance whom you feel would better fit your needs.
OON clients are billed for the type of treatment that they are provided through our Client Portal system with the card on file at the time of service. A Superbill for each completed session is provided, upon request, to clients via HIPAA-compliant email on a monthly basis.
You would then be able to submit Superbills to your insurance company to claim potential reimbursement. Some insurance companies require you to mail it in several allow for online submission (please confirm with your insurance plan on their submission process). Of course this is all dependent on the OON benefits covered by your plan (call and confirm those benefits with your insurance plan). Insurance companies typically process claims for OON reimbursement within 30-60 days.
You can use the resource below to calculate what your out of network benefits are. That being said, we highly encourage you to confirm with your insurance company directly as you will be responsible for covering any portion of the cost that is not covered by your insurance company:

Our policy requires we be notified at least 24hrs before a scheduled appointment to avoid any late cancellation or No-Show Fees.
This policy is because we value your time and ours and the time scheduled is a time set aside specifically for you.
In the event of a late cancellation or No-Show you would be charged 100% of the session fee (insurance benefits do not cover late cancellations or no-show fees)
